Nicolas Philibert’s little film sticks to the road, avoids flat stretches and wins its race against the clock. The top-gear tale of a champion who, each week, continues to cover 300 kilometres on the roads of the Landes. Each revolution of the pedals tells the same story: Lapébie yesterday, putting on the yellow jersey and wearing it until Paris. And cycling “keeps you young”. Lapébie today is the doyen of the caravan. He follows the Tour each summer, relating alone, line by line, a history of cycling conjugated in the present.
